After being selected third overall by the Warriors in the 1993 NBA Draft, Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway was traded to the Orlando Magic. In his rookie season, Penny took home the Schick Rookie Game MVP award, helped the Magic to their first playoff appearance and first 50-win season, and was named to the NBA All-Rookie first team. Hardaway averaged 16 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.4 rebounds and was runner-up for the ROTY Award.
